Windows 7 operating system features a hierarchical database to store entries related to applications and operating system components. This database is known as 'Windows Registry'. Corruption in this database primarily occurs due to operating system crash, file system damage, damaged registry cleaner, and malicious software like virus. In most situations, registry corruption is followed by a boot error message that makes the data saved in the hard drive inaccessible. To get past the problems created after registry damage, a Windows user needs an adequate data backup. But, if no backup exists, then the user needs to resolve boot problems using 'Startup Repair' option. However, if this command fails, then the user needs to opt for effective Hard Drive Recovery solutions.

Consider the below real-time scenario to illustrate the above problem. You try to boot your Windows 7 system and encounter the below error message:

File: \Windows\system32\config\system
Status: 0xc000014c
Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing, or corrupt.”

After the above error message pops up, boot process stops and the data saved in the hard drive becomes inaccessible. Furthermore, your system does not boot in 'Safe Mode' either.

Ground of the Issue:

As the error message states, the registry is corrupt or missing.

Resolution:

To resolve the above error message and to access the hard drive data:

  1. Insert Windows 7 installation CD.

  2. Select the language settings.

  3. Click 'Next' to proceed.

  4. Select 'Repair your computer' option.

However, if you do not have the installation disc, or your disc is damaged/corrupted, then you need to opt for Hard Drive Data Recovery Software to access your hard drive data.

A Hard Drive Recovery utility is a powerful tool to recoup all kinds of lost, deleted, and formatted files and folders from your hard drive. The wizard-style interface of the software makes it easy to understand and operate, even without prior technical knowledge. The read only tool performs recovery of all file types, regardless of their size.
